How useful would i be to a hockey team?

Pretty useful, but i think the fact that your focus is on the puck and carrier isn't a positive, 'head on a swivel' is a common expression, especially when looking for a pass, you need to know and see your surroundings and anticipate if the carrier will pass and to whom, but yes if you are what you are describing i'm sure you will be very useful.
